Subscriptions & payments

Set up a subscription price

Add a recurring price to an offer, choose the billing period, optionally add a free trial, and pick which plan the price sells.

After these steps your offer sells a subscription: the client's card (or recurring BLIK) is charged automatically every billing period, and their access is extended with each payment.

Gateway requirement

The Subscription price type needs Stripe, or Tpay with recurring BLIK enabled. With any other gateway use the Recurring payment type instead: each cycle the client gets a fresh payment link by email, and the renewal reminders chase the payment.

1

Open the offer's price list

In the left sidebar choose Checkouts (/checkouts) and open the offer. Switch to the Prices tab and click Add price. A window asks What kind of price are you adding?

2

Pick the Subscription type

Choose the Subscription card ("Auto-charge a stored card every cycle."). The card shows which gateways can process it: Stripe only or Stripe or recurring BLIK (Tpay). The other cards are One-time payment, Recurring payment ("Fresh payment link each cycle.") and Installments via Stripe.

3

Set the amount and billing period

On the Pricing tab enter the Gross price and choose the Billing period: 1 month, 3 months, 1 year or Custom (a number of days, weeks, months or years). The summary line at the bottom of the window reads Subscription every followed by the cadence.

4

Optionally add a free trial

Switch on Free trial ("Give customers a few days to try the product before the first charge.") and enter the Trial length in days (1 to 365). The summary line adds N-day trial and the public checkout shows Try N days for free next to the price. The first charge happens when the trial ends. A client who already used the trial on this product sees "Your subscription will renew immediately - the trial period doesn't apply on repeat purchase." The trial applies to subscriptions charged through Stripe.

5

Optionally pick the plan the price sells

If the product is sold in several tiers (product, Add-ons & Plans tab, Sell as multiple tiers), the price form has a Plan field. Set it so the price enrolls buyers in that plan; a price without a plan sells the default plan. The price row then shows Plan: name and the public checkout shows the plan name, its description and an "Includes:" line with the bundled products.

6

Save the price and the offer

Click Save in the window, then the offer's main Save button (top right). The new row is tagged Subscription with its cadence, and "N-day trial" when a trial is set.

Good to know

Changing the amount or cadence of a subscription price affects new purchases only: "Active subscriptions on this price keep billing at the current amount and cadence in Stripe." To move an existing subscriber to new terms, change their subscription individually. Switching a price to inactive stops new purchases without touching existing subscribers.

Letting subscribers change plans

For multi-tier products, the offer's Commerce settings have two switches: Allow subscribers to upgrade their plan (on by default for new offers) and Allow subscribers to downgrade their plan. With them on, the client's product page in the client area shows Your current plan: and the other plans' prices with an Adds: or You'll lose: line. An upgrade is charged immediately with proration; a downgrade is scheduled for the end of the billing period and can be undone with Cancel plan change. You can also move a client between plans yourself: product, Access tab, client, Actions, Change plan ("Billing is not affected").

What the client receives

  • After a paid purchase: the purchase confirmation email, and at every renewal a new order tagged Renewal in Transactions (/orders).
  • After starting a trial: the trial-start confirmation, and you get "✅ Congratulations. Someone just started trial access." The trial-start copy is editable in the offer's After purchase view under Emails & notifications.
