Client limits
How the active-customer limit of your Zanfia plan is counted, where to check it, and what is blocked when you reach it.
Your Zanfia plan caps the number of active customers: people who currently hold access to at least one of your products. Contacts without access do not count toward this limit. Your plan has a separate, softer limit on the total number of contacts: when it is full, adding a client by hand or importing a list stops, while purchases and signup forms keep creating clients. Both meters are under Settings → Usage.
What counts
| Counts as an active customer | Does not count |
|---|---|
| A client with a paid access record (one-time, subscription, installments) | A contact with no product access |
| A client with free access to a product | An imported contact without product access |
| A client with access to several products (counted once) | An archived client whose access was revoked or ended |
The limit counts people, not access records: one client with five products is one active customer.
Where to check it
Open the Usage tab
In the left sidebar choose Settings, then the Usage tab (/settings/usage). The row
Active customers shows the current number and your plan's limit.
Compare with the client list
Open Customers (/customers), click Filter and tick Has access to anything. The
result count matches the meter. The filter Has no access at all shows contacts that do not
count.
Watch the meter move
Granting a product (even a free one) to a contact raises the meter by one; revoking their last access lowers it by one. The contact itself is never deleted by a revoke.
What happens at the limit
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Product, Access tab, Add client with a new email | Blocked: "You've reached your plan's active client limit. Upgrade your plan to add more clients." |
| Customers, Add customer with Grant product access now ticked | Blocked with the same message |
| Adding a member to a community | Blocked with the same message |
| Grant access to a client who is already active | Allowed: "Access granted." The meter does not change |
| A client completing a checkout | Never blocked: the purchase succeeds and the exceeded limit is reported by the regular limit emails below |
| Importing contacts without product access | Allowed; the meter does not change |
Good to know
Your plan limits are compared with usage regularly. When you approach a limit you get "You've used
N% of your … limit", and when you exceed it an "[Action required]" email; sales to your clients
keep working meanwhile. To raise the limit, change your plan in Settings → Billing
(/settings/billing), see Change your Zanfia plan.
Freeing up the count
Revoke access for clients who should no longer be active (product, Access tab, row menu, or the customer profile's Revoke access), or let time-limited access expire. Archived records stay under Archived on the Access tab, keep their orders and history, and can be restored later. How to revoke: Cancel or revoke a subscription.
