Set a product cover image
Upload and crop a 16:9 cover, pick one from your media library, or generate a styled cover in the product hub, and change or remove it later.
The cover is the image shown on the product card in your products list, in your clients' library, on the storefront and as the default checkout image. You set it in the left column of the product hub, and you can upload a file, pick one from the media library, or generate a cover from a few styling choices.
Open the product
Go to your products list, for example All products (/products), and open the product. A
product without a cover shows a dashed box with Drop or click to upload and a ✨ Generate a
cover link inside it; a small picture button in the corner offers Pick from library.
Upload and crop a file
Drop an image file onto the dashed box or click it. The Crop cover image window opens with a fixed 16:9 frame; move and zoom the image, then confirm. The source image must be at least 1280×720 pixels, otherwise you see "Image is too small - use at least 1280×720px." Non-image files are rejected with "Please choose an image file." A notice reads Updating cover… and then Cover updated; the box is replaced by the new cover without a page reload.
Or pick from the media library
Click the picture button in the corner of the cover box (Pick from library). The Pick a cover image window lists the images already in your media library; choosing one sets it as the cover immediately, without cropping.
Or generate a cover
Click ✨ Generate a cover. The Cover style window shows four live previews: Watermark, Title card, Monogram and Emoji. Click a tile to select it, then adjust:
- Text on cover: defaults to the product name.
- Font (Modern, Serif, Mono) and Alignment (Left, Center): grayed out on the Emoji style, which has no text.
- Pattern: None, Dots, Lines, Waves, Grid.
- Palette: preset gradients; the last swatch, Custom colors, opens two color pickers.
- Emoji or image: type an emoji, or use the picture button to Choose from library (and Use platform logo when your site has a logo).
- Position and Opacity: available on the Watermark and Emoji styles.
Surprise me re-rolls every setting at once. Click Save to render the image and set it as the cover; no AI credits are used.
Change or remove the cover later
Hover over the cover
Hover over the cover. The overlay offers Preview (opens the image full size), a ✨ button (Change cover style, reopens the designer) and Remove cover, which brings back the dashed upload box. The corner picture button still lets you Pick from library.
Good to know
Products created with the AI assistant arrive with a generated cover already applied, so the products list never shows an empty tile. A product that has no cover shows a colored placeholder with the first letter of its name instead. The cover is stored in your media library, so the same image can be reused on checkouts and pages.
