Create a signup form

Build a standalone signup form that adds subscribers to your audience without a product, choose single or double opt-in, tag new subscribers, and embed the form or share its link.

A signup form collects email addresses for your audience: newsletter signups, lead capture, event registrations. It needs no product and no checkout. When you finish, the form is live under its own link, new subscribers appear in Customers, and you can see every submission.

Signup forms are available on every plan.

Create the form

1

Open Forms

In the sidebar open Marketing → Forms (/marketing/forms) and click Create form. Choose Signup form (not Product form), type the Form name and click Create form. The editor opens at /marketing/forms/f/<formId> with a live preview.

2

Write the content and pick the fields

The Content tab holds the Heading, Description, Button text and the Information after saving. The Fields tab switches on the Name field and the Phone number, each as Optional or Required, and the legal part: links to your terms and privacy policy and a required confirmation checkbox. With a phone field you can add the SMS consent checkbox; only customers who tick it can receive text messages. The Style tab sets the Variant, Main color, Background color and Form theme.

3

Choose the opt-in mode

Open the Settings tab. Under After signup, Opt-in mode is either Double opt-in (recommended), where the visitor gets a confirmation email and subscribes only after clicking it, or Single opt-in, which subscribes immediately with no confirmation email. For double opt-in you can write your own Confirmation email subject and intro paragraph; empty fields keep the default copy.

4

Set tags and redirects

Apply tags tags every subscriber of this form. With double opt-in the tags are applied only after the email is confirmed; with single opt-in, immediately. Redirect URL is where the visitor lands after submitting; leave it empty to show the success message on the form. After confirmation URL is where the subscriber lands after clicking the confirmation email, for example a lead magnet download. Both must be full links starting with https://.

5

Save and publish the form

Click Save ("Changes saved"). Under Embed on your site choose Own HTML to paste the markup into any site and style it yourself, or Iframe to embed the form as designed. Below the code, Or share the form directly with this link: gives a link that opens the form on its own page.

6

Read the submissions

The Submissions (N) button in the header lists every signup with Email, First name and Date; Export CSV downloads the list. In the forms list each signup form shows its number of submissions.

What the visitor sees

ModeAfter submittingIn your base
Double opt-inThe success message (or your redirect), then an email with a confirmation button. The default subject is "Confirm your signup: [form name]".Pending confirmation until the click, then Subscribed with the tags applied.
Single opt-inThe success message (or your redirect). No email is sent.Subscribed immediately, with the tags applied.

Submitting the same address again shows the success message again and does not create a second submission. The form never reveals that an address is already signed up. With single opt-in, someone who unsubscribed earlier stays unsubscribed.

Use the signups

  • Send a campaign to All subscribed or to a segment built on the form's tag: see Send an email campaign.
  • Start a workflow with the trigger Form submitted. On the trigger card choose the form in Signup forms (empty means all forms). The variable {{formName}} is available in the emails of that workflow. See Build a workflow.
  • Put the form on a page built in Zanfia: see Create a signup page.

Good to know

The thank-you redirect of an Own HTML embed is stored in the copied markup, so copy the code again after you change the Redirect URL. Delete form in the forms list stops the form and its embed immediately and cannot be undone. A Product form, the other option in the create window, is tied to a product with a free checkout and signs people up for that product.
