Troubleshooting marketing and tracking

Causes and fixes for the marketing problems creators report most: purchases missing or doubled in Meta and Google Analytics, Tag Manager tags that do not fire, visit numbers that differ from ad clicks, an empty Traffic view, LinkedIn statistics, one-time offers and referral commission.

This page collects the problems creators report most often with conversion tracking, analytics, social statistics, one-time offers and the referral program, each with its cause and the steps that fix it.

Purchases do not show up in Meta, Google Analytics or TikTok

A purchase reaches an outside platform only when an integration is connected, assigned to the checkout that made the sale, and still accepted by the platform. Check these points in order:

  1. The integration. Open Integrations → Analytics (/integrations/analytics). The platform's card has to show Connected. A card marked Needs attention has an integration that was disabled or is failing: click Manage and read why. The usual cause is an access token that expired or was revoked; edit the integration, paste a fresh token and save.
  2. The events it sends. In the integration's Events step, Purchase has to be selected.
  3. The checkout. Open the checkout, switch the view at the top to Analytics (/checkouts/<id>/analytics) and open the Tracking tab. With Use workspace defaults and no default integration, the tab says No workspace defaults set and the checkout tracks nothing. With Custom for this checkout, the platform has to read Assigned.
  4. The numbers. Back in Manage, each account shows the last 7 days: how many events were delivered, failed, sent from the browser and blocked by cookie consent.
What you seeWhat it means
No events yetNot an error. The first events appear when a customer visits a checkout or places an order.
Events blocked by cookie consentThe visitor rejected cookies in your banner, so nothing was sent for them. This is how the banner is meant to work.
The card says Browser events onlyNo token is saved, so events leave only from the buyer's browser and can be lost to ad blockers. Add the token to get Browser + server events.
Failed eventsOpen the event in Analytics → Traffic & conversions → Events or in the checkout's Events tab to see what was sent and how the platform answered.

Setup is described in Connect tracking pixels and analytics tools.

Meta shows every purchase as two events

With a Pixel ID and an access token saved, Zanfia reports each event twice on purpose: once from the buyer's browser and once from its servers. Both copies carry the same event ID, so Meta recognizes them as one event and counts the purchase once. Seeing the same event arrive from the browser and from the server is therefore correct.

If Meta really counts purchases twice, a second source is sending its own purchase event without that shared ID. The usual one is a Google Tag Manager container on the checkout with your own Meta tag in it.

  1. Open the checkout's Analytics view and the Tracking tab, and check whether a Google Tag Manager container is assigned next to Meta Conversion API.
  2. In that container, remove the Meta tag that fires on the purchase, or stop it from firing on the thank-you page. Leave the purchase to the Meta integration in Zanfia.

See Connect tracking pixels and analytics tools.

A test purchase or a free signup is not reported as a purchase

Both are handled differently on purpose, so that your ad platforms receive only real sales as purchases.

What you didWhat is sentWhat to do
An order placed with Test purchaseNo server event. Zanfia's servers never report a test order to Meta, Google Analytics, TikTok, X or LinkedIn, so it does not count as a sale there. To test tracking, use Test integrations on the checkout's Tracking tab. Meta and TikTok need a test event code; Google Analytics 4 shows the events in DebugView.
A signup through a free checkoutA lead, not a purchase: Lead in Meta, CompleteRegistration in TikTok and generate_lead in Google Analytics 4. X and LinkedIn receive no event for it.Look for the lead event in the platform. It is sent when Purchase is selected among the integration's events.

My Google Tag Manager tags do not fire on the checkout

Zanfia loads your container on the checkout and the thank-you page and pushes its own events into the data layer. A trigger built on another name, for example Meta's InitiateCheckout, never fires, because that event goes straight to the Meta pixel and not through Tag Manager.

MomentData layer event
The checkout opensview_cart and begin_checkout
The thank-you page after a paid orderpurchase, with an ecommerce object holding transaction_id, value, currency and items
The thank-you page after a free signupgenerate_lead
  1. In Google Tag Manager, build Custom Event triggers on exactly these names, in lowercase.
  2. Check that the container is assigned to the checkout: Analytics view, Tracking tab.
  3. Test with cookies accepted. A visitor who rejects cookies in your banner is not tracked.

See Connect tracking pixels and analytics tools.

Zanfia shows more visits than my ad platform reports clicks

The two numbers measure different things, so they never match exactly. In Analytics → Traffic & conversions, view Traffic, a visit is one stay on your pages in one browser tab. A new visit starts in every new tab and after 30 minutes without activity. A page view is every single page load.

Reasons the visit count is higher than the clicks on your ads:

  • The same click is opened twice, for example first in the in-app browser of a social app and then in the phone's own browser. The ad platform counts one click; Zanfia counts two visits.
  • People come from the same network without clicking an ad, for example from your profile or a post. Your own visits to the page count as well.
  • Visits without campaign data are listed as Direct in Traffic by source. Add UTM parameters to every ad link so paid traffic stays separate from the rest.

The page-view numbers inside an ad platform come from its pixel, which loads only for visitors who accepted cookies, so they are usually lower than both. See Traffic & conversions and UTM tracking.

The Traffic view is empty, or my own website is missing from it

The Traffic view counts visits to pages: your storefront, product pages, custom pages and outside pages that carry the tracking snippet. It stays empty when buyers never pass through such a page.

My connected LinkedIn account shows no numbers in Statistics

LinkedIn does not share the follower count with outside tools, so Zanfia cannot read it the way it reads Instagram or Facebook. In Marketing → Social media (/marketing/social), tab Statistics, the LinkedIn card is marked Manual entry.

  1. Click Enter the follower count on the LinkedIn card and type the current number.
  2. For an earlier measurement, use Edit on its row in Historical data.

Values you type are kept: the automatic weekly measurements do not overwrite them, and trends and goals are calculated for LinkedIn like for the other channels. See Schedule posts and track results.

I cannot find where a one-time offer is set up

One-time offers have no entry in the sidebar and no tab on the Order bumps page. They belong to the checkout after which they are shown.

  1. Open Offers → Checkouts (/checkouts) and open the checkout.
  2. Switch the view at the top from Editor to After purchase (/checkouts/<id>/after-purchase).
  3. Click the One-time offer step and switch on Show a one-time offer after purchase.

If the Price list is empty and says "No one-time prices on this product’s default checkout", the product you want to offer has no one-time price yet: add one on its default checkout and come back. If you chose your own Offer page and buyers still see the built-in screen, that page is a draft; publish it. The whole setup: Add a one-time offer after purchase.

Commission is counted from payments, not from signups. A referral with the status Registered or On trial earns nothing yet; it starts when that creator pays for a plan and the status turns to Paying.

  1. Open the profile menu and choose Refer and earn 30% (/referrals). The table Your referrals shows each referral with its Status, Your cut and Earned so far.
  2. If the person is not on the list, the signup did not come through your link. A referral counts when someone signs up through your link within 30 days of their first click. Your own additional accounts do not count.
  3. Earned commission waits under To be paid out. Switch on Settle my subscription from commission to pay your own Zanfia invoices from it, or leave it off and ask for a bank-transfer payout: above 200 zł / $50, once a quarter. To ask for it, write to Zanfia support.

A payout appears in Payout history after it has been made. The terms are in Refer a creator and earn commission.
