Delete a product

Delete a product from the products list or the hub, understand what is revoked immediately and what is kept, and when to hide instead of delete.

Deleting a product takes it offline for good: clients lose access right away, its checkouts stop selling, and after 30 days the product and its content are erased permanently. Orders, invoices and purchase history stay. If you only want to pause sales, change the status instead.

Delete, hide or archive?

ActionClients' accessCheckoutsReversible
Status Hidden / DraftPaused until you publish againDeactivated; you re-pick them on publishYes, at any time
Delete productRevoked immediatelyGo offline; links show an unavailable pageOnly through support, within 30 days

Archived is a status older products may still carry; the hub no longer offers an archive action. To retire a product, hide it or delete it.

1

Open the delete action

On any products list, for example All products (/products), hover the product card and open the ⋮ menu in its corner: it offers Details and a red Delete. Inside the product hub the same action is under the ⋮ button in the header as Delete product. Both open the window Delete "[product name]".

2

Check for a blocker

If the product is included in another product's plan (an add-on or a bundle tier), the window shows This product cannot be deleted yet with the list of products that include it, and the Delete product button stays disabled. Remove the product from those plans on their Add-ons & Plans tab, then try again.

3

Read the consequences and acknowledge

The window lists what happens: how many clients lose access right away, "All checkouts go offline and stop selling", "The product and its content are permanently erased after 30 days" (until then, recovery is possible only via support), and "Orders, invoices and purchase history are kept for your records". Tick I understand this deletes the product and revokes client access. to enable the button.

4

Handle active subscriptions

If any client pays for this product by subscription, the button reads Continue instead of Delete product. The second screen, Active subscriptions will be canceled, states how many subscriptions there are, that they are canceled immediately and billing stops, and that no refunds are issued automatically. Tick I understand these subscriptions will be canceled immediately, without refunds. A Back button returns to the first screen.

5

Confirm

Click Delete product. You see The product has been deleted. and the product disappears from the list without a reload. When many clients are affected, the message says instead that their access is being revoked in the background and points you to Notifications → Tasks to follow the progress.

What is kept and what is gone

  • Kept: orders, invoices and the client's purchase history; the client records themselves.
  • Gone for clients: the product tile in their library and any content behind it; old checkout links show an unavailable page instead of a payment form.
  • Gone for you: the product from every products list and status filter, from the storefront, and from product pickers across the app. Dashboards and reports keep working.
  • Subscriptions: canceled immediately, no further charges. Refunds are your decision and must be made before deleting.

Good to know

Deleting frees a published-product slot in your plan (see Product limits), but unpublishing does the same without touching client access. Delete only when the product should never come back.
