Product limits
How many products each plan lets you publish, why drafts never count, what happens when you hit the limit, and where to check your usage.
Your plan limits how many products can be Published at the same time. Only published products count: drafts, hidden and archived products are free, so you can prepare as many products as you like before you launch them.
Published products per plan
| Plan | Published products |
|---|---|
| Starter | 5 |
| Growth | 25 |
| Pro | 100 |
| Scale | 500 |
The current number for your workspace, including the trial, is shown in Settings → Usage (/settings/usage) under Published products.
Separately from the plan, a workspace can hold at most 1000 products in total (any status except deleted). When that ceiling is reached the Create product button is disabled with the message "You cannot add a new product because this workspace holds the maximum number of products (1000). Delete unused products to add more."
What happens at the limit
- Creating products always works. The Create product button stays enabled even when the workspace already holds more products than the plan allows; a new product opens as a Draft.
- Publishing is blocked. With the limit reached, the Publish …? window shows a red banner Published product limit reached ("Your plan includes 5 published products and all spots are taken. Unpublish one of them or upgrade your plan to publish this one.") and the Publish button inside the window is disabled. An Upgrade plan button on the banner leads to Settings → Billing (
/settings/billing). Closing the window changes nothing; the product stays a Draft. - Other entry points are guarded too. Picking Published in the status dropdown at the limit shows "You've reached your plan's limit of published products. Unpublish another product or upgrade your plan."
- Activating a checkout does not bypass the limit. A checkout can only go live on a published product.
Free a slot
Unpublish a product
Open a published product you no longer sell, click its status tag and choose Draft or Hidden. Confirm the Change … to …? window; it reminds you that the product's checkouts are deactivated and its buyers lose access.
Publish the other product
Open the product you want live and click Publish. The banner is gone and publishing works as usual.
Check the meter
Settings → Usage shows Published products with the new count against your limit. Drafts are not included in that number.
Good to know
Bundles are products too and count toward the limit while published. Deleting a product also frees its slot, but deletion revokes client access and cannot be undone after 30 days; unpublishing is the reversible option. See Delete a product.
