Certificate templates

Design the layout of your course certificates: pick a style, add your logo and wording, choose what is printed, set a default template and assign one to a course.

A template decides how your certificates look. Without any template of your own, courses use the built-in layout. When you finish these steps you have your own template, set as the default or assigned to one course.

1

Open Templates

In the sidebar open Customers → Certificates (/certificates) and switch the view from Issued to Templates (/certificates/templates). With no templates yet the page says "No custom templates yet - courses use the built-in layout."

2

Create a template

Click New template. The editor opens with a live preview filled with sample data. Give the template a name in Template name.

3

Choose the style and brand

Under Style pick a preset: Elegant, Minimal, Modern or Classic. Under Brand set the Accent color, the Typeface (Serif, Sans or Mixed), the Logo and its Logo size. Use your platform logo takes the logo you already set for your site.

4

Set the wording

Under Wording edit the Heading, the Line above the student's name, the Line above the course name, the "Issued by" label and the Signature (typed). The student name, the course and the completion date are filled in automatically for every student. Reset to defaults restores the standard texts.

5

Choose what is printed

Under Show on certificate switch elements on or off:

ElementNote
Completion dateThe day the client completed the course.
SignatureNeeds the Signature (typed) field in Wording to be filled in.
Credential IDThe unique number of the certificate.
IssuerThe "Issued by" label and your account name. Zanfia never appears on issued certificates.
QR verificationA QR code that opens the public verification page. Without it nobody can verify the certificate is real.
Extra line (per course)Prints the text you set per course in the course Settings, for example training hours.
6

Preview and save

The on-screen preview uses sample data; Preview renders the exact PDF. Save the template. The tag Unsaved changes warns you before you leave with edits that are not saved.

Use the template

GoalHow
Use it for every courseIn the template's More actions menu choose Set as default. It is then used by every course without its own template.
Use it for one courseOpen the course, Settings → Certificate → Certificate template, and pick it.
Use it for one manual certificatePick it in Certificate template when you issue the certificate by hand.
Start a variantDuplicate creates "[name] (copy)".
Remove itDelete. Courses using it fall back to the default template or the built-in layout. PDFs that were already issued are not affected.

The order of precedence for a new certificate is: the template assigned to the course, then the default template, then the built-in layout.

Good to know

Advanced editor opens a free canvas where you position every element yourself. Once you save there, the template stops using the simple controls and is marked custom layout in the list. The student name field must stay on the canvas; the editor refuses to save a layout without it. A changed template applies to certificates issued afterwards. To give an existing certificate the new look, revoke it and use Issue again; see Course certificates.
