Course analytics

Read how learners move through a course: totals and activity, the completion funnel per lesson, quiz pass rates, a filterable learner list and a CSV export.

Course analytics answers three questions: how many learners are active, where in the course they stop, and how one particular learner is doing. It counts everyone who has access to the course, not only direct buyers.

Open the report

1

Open the course

In the sidebar open Products → Courses (/courses) and open the course. You land on its Course tab.

2

Click Analytics

Click the Analytics tile ("Learner progress, drop-off, and quiz results"). The report opens full screen at /courses/<productId>/analytics, with the label Course analytics above the course name, a back arrow that returns to the Course tab, and the Export to CSV button.

Use the switch Overview · Lessons · Learners.

Overview

TileMeaning
Total learnersEveryone with access to the course.
Started the courseLearners who opened the course at least once. Never larger than Total learners.
Completed the courseLearners who completed it, with the share "of those who started".
Active (7 days)Learners active in the last 7 days; the line below gives the number for 30 days.
Average progressThe average share of published lessons completed by learners who started.

Below the tiles, Learner activity shows one bar per day with Active learners and Lesson completions, and Progress distribution groups learners into 0%, 1-25%, 26-50%, 51-75%, 76-99% and 100%. A course nobody opened yet shows "Activity will appear here once learners open the course."

Lessons: the completion funnel

The Completion funnel lists your modules; click a module to see its lessons, or use Expand all and Collapse all. Only published lessons are included, in course order.

ColumnMeaning
LessonThe lesson title. Quiz lessons carry a Quiz tag.
StartedLearners who opened the lesson.
CompletedLearners who completed it.
CompletionThe share of learners who started the course and completed this lesson.
Drop-offThe percentage fall in completions compared with the previous lesson. The first lesson has no value.
Quiz pass rateFor quizzes: the share of passed attempts, with the number of attempts.

A lesson with a high drop-off is where learners stop. The course hub repeats the worst one under Needs attention ("…% of students stop at [lesson]") with a See drop-off link back to this view.

Learners

The table lists each learner who started, with Client, Course Progress, Sessions quantity, First Activity, Last Activity and Last lesson. Above it you can:

  • search by name or email,
  • filter by progress: Any progress, No lesson completed, In progress, Completed the course,
  • filter by activity: Any activity, Active in the last 7 days, Active in the last 30 days, Inactive for 30+ days,
  • filter by the last lesson a learner opened,
  • reset everything with Clear filters.

Click a row (or Show details) to open one learner: their progress, Sessions, first and last activity, Quizzes passed with Quiz points, and every lesson of the course with its state. View full profile opens the same client on the course's Access tab, where you manage their access.

Export

Export to CSV in the top bar downloads a file with the course's learners and their progress, ready for a spreadsheet.

Good to know

Draft lessons never appear in the funnel and do not count toward progress, so publishing a new lesson lowers everyone's percentage until they complete it. Results of a single quiz, question by question, are on the quiz's Statistics tab; see Quizzes.
