Blog with the assistant

What the AI Assistant does on your blog: draft posts, edits, categories, publishing and scheduling once you approve, plus the blog in the API, MCP and CLI.

5 min readLast updated Oct 23, 2026

The AI Assistant writes and tidies posts on your blog: it drafts a post from a course lesson, sharpens a title and a summary, assigns categories and schedules the post. Publishing, unpublishing, scheduling and deleting wait for your approval on a card in the chat. How the blog itself works is in A blog on your site.

Where to talk about the blog

Open the Assistant chat on Your site → Blog (how to open the chat: Chat with the Assistant). On that screen the Assistant has your blog posts and categories at hand, your courses (to write a post from a lesson), the media library (cover images and video transcripts) and your pages. On any other screen, it is enough for your request to say "blog", for example "write a blog post about …".

Example requests:

  • "Write a blog post from lesson 3 of [course name]."
  • "Shorten the summary of [title] and put it in the Guides category."
  • "Schedule [title] for Monday at 8:00."

The post list refreshes by itself when the Assistant adds or changes a post, so there is no need to reload the page.

What the Assistant does right away

These need no card. The Assistant does them within the permissions of your team role:

ActionWhat happens
Writing a new postThe post always starts as a Draft. The Assistant never publishes a post when it creates it.
Editing a postTitle, address, body, summary, cover image, tags, categories, search engine settings and publication date. A change to a published post is live at once, and a new address breaks the old link.
Reading posts and categoriesThe post list, one post's body, the category list with post counts.
A new categoryAdds a category to the blog.

Before it changes an existing category (its name, address, description or search engine settings), the Assistant asks you in the chat: a new address moves the category page, and old links to it stop working.

Good to know

When you ask for edits to a published post, readers see them as soon as the Assistant saves them. To look at the changes first, ask for a new draft, or unpublish the post while you work on it.

What waits for your approval

The Assistant only prepares these. An Action requires your approval card appears in the chat, and nothing changes until you click Approve (more in Approve the Assistant's actions).

ActionWhat the card says
Publish nowThat the post "[title]" goes public at once.
UnpublishThat "[title]" goes back to draft and leaves the blog.
ScheduleThat "[title]" is scheduled for [time] (Polish time) and goes live by itself.
Cancel the scheduleThat the scheduled publication of "[title]" is cancelled and it goes back to draft.
Delete a postThe post's title, and that deleting is for good, with no bin and no undo.
Delete a categoryThe category's name and how many posts lose it. The posts stay on the blog; the category page stops working.

The Assistant does not show a card for an action that would fail anyway. Instead it tells you what to fix: when the post has no body yet, when the time is less than a minute or more than a year ahead, or when you want to schedule a post that is already published (unpublish it first).

The Assistant gives and reads times in Polish time, like the post list and the Schedule the post window. Chatting with the Assistant uses AI credits: see AI credits.

The blog in the API, MCP and CLI

The same actions are open to your own tools and outside assistants. Reading needs a key with the pages:read scope, writing needs pages:write (how to create a key: Authentication and API keys).

SurfaceWhat is available
Workspace APIGET and POST /blog-posts, GET, PATCH and DELETE /blog-posts/[postId], POST /blog-posts/[postId]/publish, POST /blog-posts/[postId]/schedule, GET and POST /blog-categories, PATCH and DELETE /blog-categories/[categoryId]. Post bodies are Markdown.
MCPThe tools list-blog-posts, get-blog-post, create-blog-post, update-blog-post, publish-blog-post, schedule-blog-post, delete-blog-post and list-blog-categories, create-blog-category, update-blog-category, delete-blog-category. The delete tools tell the assistant to ask for your confirmation first (see Connect AI clients to your workspace).
CLIzanfia blog list, create, get, update, publish and delete (see Command reference). Scheduling and categories work through the Workspace API and MCP.

The schedule time (scheduledAt) is an ISO 8601 date and time with the time zone offset, for example 2026-10-26T08:00:00+01:00 for Monday 26 October at 8:00 Polish time. As in the dashboard, a post created through the API, MCP or CLI starts as a draft unless you ask to publish a post with a body right away.
