Limit how many devices a client can use
Turn on account sharing protection, set the number of active devices per client, choose what happens when the limit is reached, and free a device for one client.
Account sharing protection stops one login from being passed around: each client can be logged in on a limited number of devices at the same time, on your site and in the mobile app. When you finish, the limit is on, you have chosen how a client swaps a device, and you know how to free a device for one person.
Open Customer access
Open Your site → Settings and choose the Customer access tab (/site/access). The section
is called Account sharing protection.
Turn the limit on
Flip the switch. Its label changes from No device limit to Limit active customer devices, and two more settings appear. In Active device limit type how many devices one client may use at the same time.
Choose what happens when the limit is reached
Under When the limit is reached pick one option:

Save
Click Save. The note under the section reminds you that active devices are counted separately for each client.
What the client sees
A client who logs in on one device too many sees Device limit reached. Depending on the option you chose, they can swap right away with Use this device instead, have to wait before the next swap, or are told to ask you. Every browser counts as a separate device, so two browsers on one laptop take two places.
Free a device for one client
Open Customers (/customers), open the client and go to the Devices tab. The list shows each active device with Last active and Active until. Remove frees one place after you confirm Remove this device immediately?; Remove all logs the client out everywhere. A removed device loses access to your platform within seconds.
Good to know
Clients have no device list of their own; they swap a device only on the limit screen. To stop limiting devices, flip the switch back to No device limit and save.
