Payment methods by gateway

Which payment methods your customers can use with each gateway: card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, BLIK, online transfers, Klarna, installments and bank transfer, by price type and currency.

What a customer can pay with depends on three things: which gateways you connected, which gateways are enabled on the price, and the price itself (its type and currency). This page is the reference for all three.

Methods each gateway provides

The names in the first column are the tiles a customer sees on the checkout and the rows of Payment methods in the checkout editor (Form & UX tab).

The tiles named after a gateway (Przelewy24, PayU, Tpay, Paynow, PayPal) hand the payment over to that gateway. The instruments offered there, for example online transfers or BLIK, depend on your account at the gateway, not on Zanfia.

Rules that apply to every checkout

RuleWhat it means in practice
Subscriptions and installments need Stripe"Subscriptions and installments support card, Apple Pay and Google Pay." The one exception is recurring BLIK through Tpay on subscriptions.
USD and GBP prices are card onlyWith Stripe, a USD or GBP price offers card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. PayPal and bank transfer are not limited by currency.
The gateway must be enabled on the priceA connected gateway is offered only on prices where it is switched on. The price form has a gateway setting, and each gateway's Manage window has Enable on all / Disable on all.
One BLIK tile per one-time priceIf more than one gateway could take BLIK with the code typed on the checkout page, only one tile is shown. BLIK source in the checkout editor picks between Stripe, Tpay and PayU.
A checkout can hide or reorder methods, but cannot add unsupported onesIn Form & UX, Payment methods, you choose which methods appear on the checkout and in what order. "Availability still depends on each price's gateways and currency."
Installment tiles can be off by defaultOn checkouts created before installments were introduced, the Installments tile stays hidden until you switch it on in Payment methods.
Nothing is offered on an offer that is not liveAn inactive or archived checkout, or one past its deadline, shows no payment methods.

Why a method is missing on my checkout

Work through the list in this order; the first match is the cause.

  1. The gateway is not connected. Open Integrations → Payments (/integrations/payments) and check that the card is under Connected.
  2. The gateway is not enabled on this price. Open the price in the checkout editor and check its payment gateways.
  3. The price type does not allow it. A subscription or installment price shows card and wallets only (plus recurring BLIK with Tpay).
  4. The currency does not allow it. See the currency column above.
  5. The method is not active on your Stripe account. In the Stripe Manage window, a red dot on Przelewy24, BLIK or Klarna means Stripe has not activated it; the checkout editor shows "Not active on your Stripe account - enable it in payment gateway settings."
  6. The method is hidden on this checkout. In Form & UX, Payment methods, look under Hidden on this checkout.
  7. Apple Pay or Google Pay does not show. The customer's device cannot pay with it, or the domain of the page is not registered in Stripe. See Connect Stripe and Checkout fields and quick payment.

Coming soon

Dodo Payments, a merchant-of-record gateway, is not open to everyone yet and does not appear on the Payments tab.
