Storefront footer and legal links

Write or link your terms and privacy policy, then fill the storefront footer with contact details, social links, custom links and a copyright line.

The footer of your storefront identifies you as the seller and links to your legal documents. When you finish these steps, the store footer shows your contact details, your social profiles and working links to your terms and privacy policy.

With nothing configured, the footer is a single slim line: © [year] [your site name]. As soon as your terms or privacy policy exist, the links Terms of service and Privacy policy appear on that line by themselves. Contact details, social icons and custom links turn the footer into a larger block.

1

Open Legal documents

Go to Your site → Settings and open the Privacy & legal tab (/site/privacy). The Legal documents section lists two documents: Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Each shows its status: Not set, Written · [n] words or Linked page.

2

Choose Write here or Link to a page

For each document pick one source.

SourceWhat you doWhat visitors open
Write hereClick Edit document. A full-screen editor opens (/site/legal/terms or /site/legal/privacy-policy); paste or write the text and click Save.A page on your own site: /documents/terms or /documents/pp.
Link to a pagePaste the address of a document you host elsewhere and click Save. That external address.
3

Check the public page

For a written document, View public page opens it and Public address: shows the link with a copy icon. The pencil next to it (Edit address…) changes the last part of the address; the default address keeps working. Generate PDF creates a PDF of the saved text for download and e-mail attachments.

One source per document

A document is either written or linked, never both. Saving a document as Link to a page when it has written text asks "Replace written document with a link?" and deletes the text. This cannot be undone.

These documents are used across your site: the storefront, your pages and the checkout.

1

Open the footer settings

Go to Your site → Storefront (/sites/storefront), open the Settings tab in the left panel and scroll to Footer. The preview on the right updates as you type.

2

Add contact and seller details

Under Contact & seller info fill Business name, Address, Contact email, Phone and Extra line (e.g. NIP / REGON). Fill only what applies; empty fields are not shown. In the footer the e-mail and the phone number become clickable links.

3

Add social links

Under Social links paste the full address (starting with https://) of your profile on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, X (Twitter) or LinkedIn. Each filled network shows as an icon that opens in a new tab. Networks left empty show nothing.

4

Add custom links

Under Custom links click Add link and type a Label and an address, for example a refund policy or an FAQ. A link appears in the footer only when both the label and the address are filled. You can add up to 20 links.

5

Set the copyright line

Copyright line replaces the default "© [year] [your site name]" with your own text.

6

Save and check the live store

Click Save, then View store, and scroll to the bottom of the public store.

The Legal links (terms & privacy) switch at the top of the Footer section is on by default. Turn it off and click Save to remove Terms of service and Privacy policy from the footer; everything else stays. The Configure documents link next to the hint takes you to the Privacy & legal tab.

Good to know

The legal links appear only for documents that exist. If the switch is on and a link is missing, the document is Not set. The footer follows the store's design, in both the light and the dark scheme. This footer belongs to the product storefront; a page that you set as your main page carries its own footer.
