Troubleshooting pages and storefront
Causes and fixes for the site problems creators report most: a custom domain that will not verify or open, visitors who see a login page, products missing from the store, dead buy buttons, a missing cookie banner and links broken by an address change.
This page collects the problems creators report most often with their custom domain, pages and storefront, each with its cause and the steps that fix it.
My custom domain stays "Unverified" after I added the DNS records
Unverified means the records Zanfia expects were not found at your domain provider yet: one is missing or mistyped, an older record gets in the way, or the change has not spread yet.
- Open Your site → Settings and the Domains tab (
/site/address). The card of your domain shows a table with Record type, Record name and Record value. - Compare the table with the DNS panel of your provider and copy each value with the copy icon. The records belong to exactly the address you saved:
yourdomain.comandwww.yourdomain.comare two different addresses with different records. - Remove every record that the table tags as Conflicting. It already exists at your provider and blocks verification.
- If your provider has forwarding (a redirect) switched on for this name, switch it off. Forwarding answers instead of the record you added.
- Click Re-check status. Changes at the provider need time to spread, so repeat the check later if the status does not change at once.
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Unknown | Click Re-check status. |
| "Domain verification is taking longer than expected." | Click Try again. |
Your site keeps working on its Zanfia address the whole time, so nothing is offline while you sort out the records. The full walkthrough: Connect a custom domain.
My domain shows "Verified", but the site does not open
A verified domain still needs an SSL certificate, and until it is issued the browser refuses the connection. The card then shows Verified together with Generating SSL certificate.
- Wait. The certificate is issued automatically, usually within a few minutes and occasionally up to an hour. The status refreshes on its own, and you can leave the page.
- When the tag changes to SSL active, type the full address into the browser's address bar and check the site.
- Select the domain under Base address used in communication and click Save, so that links in the app and in emails use it.
- If Generating SSL certificate is still there after an hour, write to Zanfia support and give the domain name: see Get help and contact support.
All states are listed in Connect a custom domain.
Visitors see a login page instead of my page or my store
A page or a site root that asks for a login is either not public yet or deliberately restricted.
| Where it happens | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| One page opens the login page or a page-not-found screen | The page is a Draft. Only logged-in members of your team can open a draft. | Open the page in Your site → Pages & Funnels (/sites/pages) and click Publish. If the page has [FILL IN] markers, fix them or choose Publish anyway. |
| One page opens a screen with a login and a buy button | Access is limited to Products that grant access. | In the page's Settings tab open Access and choose Everyone (public page), then Save. |
| The root of your site opens the login page | Main page is set to User dashboard, or to a Community that is Private. | In Your site → Settings → General Settings (/site/general) choose Storefront or Custom page under Main page and click Save. |
You see your own drafts because you are logged in. To check what a visitor gets, open the address in a private browser window. Details: Page settings and publishing and Site address and main page.
My store says "No products available" or a product is missing
The public store lists a product only when three conditions are met at once. A product that looks fine in the dashboard is left out when one of them fails.
- The product is Published. Check the status tag in the product. A draft never appears in the store.
- It is not hidden from the store. In the product's settings, Storefront visibility has to be Public; Unlisted and Private products are not listed. In Your site → Storefront (
/sites/storefront) the product must not be hidden with the crossed-eye icon. Products that are not in the store yet wait under Add to store on the Sections tab. - Its default checkout exists and is active. The storefront builder marks a product without one as No checkout. Open the product's Checkouts tab and publish a checkout.
Then click Save in the storefront builder; until you do, only the preview shows your changes. Public pages are cached for a short time, so a change can take about a minute to appear: reload the page before you look further.
If the builder shows Your storefront is turned off, visitors are sent to the user dashboard or a community instead of the store: click Set Storefront as main page. See Set up your storefront.
I want my page to open at my domain itself, without a slug
Every page needs a slug, so its own address is always [your site address]/[slug]. To show a page at the root of your site, make it the main page instead of the store.
- Publish the page. A draft cannot be the main page; its menu shows Publish to set as main page.
- In Your site → Pages & Funnels (
/sites/pages) open the page's ⋯ menu and choose Set as main page. - Open your site address with nothing after it and check that the page appears.
Your other pages stay at their own addresses. Use product storefront in the same menu puts the store back at the root. If the main page is later unpublished or deleted, the root shows the store again. See Site address and main page.
The buy button on my page leads nowhere
A buy button works only when the page is connected to an offer that can be bought. Without it the button has no checkout to open.
- Open the page in the editor and click the Settings tab. Look at the Offer row.
- "No offer is connected to this page yet." means the page sells nothing: click the row and pick the product and its checkout. The choice is saved at once.
- "The product is a draft - it cannot be bought" or "The checkout is inactive - it cannot be bought" means the offer exists but is not live: use Edit product or Edit checkout in the same row, publish it and come back.
- If only one button is wrong, switch the view to Visual edit, click the button and check its Link in the Style panel, then click Save.
How the button opens the checkout (a separate page, a side drawer, a window or an order form on the page) is set in How buying works. See Page settings and publishing and Edit a page.
The cookie banner does not show on my page
The banner is controlled in two places, and both have to allow it.
- Open Your site → Settings → Privacy & legal (
/site/privacy) and, in the Cookie consent section, switch on Cookie consent banner. Without it no page of your site shows the banner. The switch saves by itself. - Open the page in the editor, go to the Settings tab, open Cookie banner and keep Show the cookie banner on. Click Save.
- Test in a private browser window. A visitor who already answered the banner on your site is not asked again.
Hiding the banner on one page does not grant consent: pixels on that page load only for visitors who accepted cookies elsewhere on your site. See Page settings and publishing.
After I changed my site address, my old links stopped working
The address of your site is part of every link: pages, product pages, checkouts and the login page. Changing it moves all of them, and the window warns about it before you save: "pages, checkouts and any links you shared before will stop working on the old address."
- Replace the links you shared (in ads, social profiles, emails and on other websites) with the new ones. In the app, the copy icons and Open live already use the new address.
- If you changed the address by mistake, change it back under Your site → Settings → General Settings (
/site/general), Your site address, Edit. This works only while nobody else has taken the old name. - To stop depending on the Zanfia address, connect your own domain and select it under Base address used in communication. A later change of the Zanfia address then no longer touches the links you share. See Connect a custom domain.
If your problem is not listed here, see Get help and contact support.
