Import from ActiveCampaign or Kit

Import the contacts of selected lists as clients with tags, and bring your sent campaigns in as reusable drafts and as knowledge for the AI Assistant.

A connected ActiveCampaign or Kit (ConvertKit) account has two import actions: Import audience copies your active contacts into Zanfia as clients, and Import campaigns brings in the campaigns you already sent. When you finish, your list is in Customers and your newest campaigns are drafts in Email campaigns.

MailerLite uses a combined three-step migration instead: see Move from MailerLite.

Import the audience

1

Open the connected account

Go to Integrations → Email marketing (/integrations/email-clients), open the ActiveCampaign card with Manage (or Connect and add the account first). The connected account row shows its lists and tags and the actions Import audience and Import campaigns.

2

Choose the lists

Click Import audience. In Import audience to Zanfia every list under Lists to import is ticked at first; use Unselect all, the search box and the checkboxes to keep only the lists you want. With no list ticked, Start import is disabled.

3

Decide about tags

Two options are ticked by default: Import ActiveCampaign tags as customer tags carries the contacts' tags over, and Tag imported customers with their list name adds a tag named exactly like each list.

4

Start the import

Click Start import. You see "Import started. Contacts will appear in the Customers tab as they are processed" and the window closes. The import runs in the background; the bell at the top, Tasks tab, shows a Customer import row and its result, for example "120 new, 4 already existed, 0 skipped".

Import sent campaigns

1

Open Import campaigns

On the same account row click Import campaigns. The window Import sent campaigns fetches every campaign the account has sent.

2

Choose what to do with them

Index campaign content for the AI assistant makes the content searchable for the Assistant. The number field, "most recent campaigns as broadcast drafts (0 = none)", decides how many of the newest campaigns become drafts. With 0 nothing appears in Email campaigns; the content only feeds the Assistant. With the box unticked and the number at 0, Start import is disabled.

3

Start and check

Click Start import. Large accounts take several minutes. The drafts appear in Marketing → Email campaigns named after the original campaigns, with the subject and the text filled in. They are plain drafts: no recipients, no send date, nothing is sent.

What is imported

In ActiveCampaign or KitIn Zanfia

TagsClient tags, when the option is ticked.
ListsA client tag with the list's name, when the option is ticked.

A client who is already Unsubscribed in Zanfia stays unsubscribed, whatever their state in the other tool.

For Kit the audience window reads Forms and tags to import, and the tagging option is Tag imported customers with their form or tag name.

Good to know

Both imports can be run again safely: people, tags and drafts that already exist are not duplicated. Draft creation is part of email campaigns (Growth and above). Importing does not move automations; rebuild them as workflows.
