SMS campaigns and automations through your own Twilio or SMSAPI account
SMS is now available on every account. Connect your own Twilio or SMSAPI account, send SMS campaigns to a segment, add a Send SMS step to any automation, and let people opt out with a STOP reply.
SMS is now available on every account, with no early access needed. You connect your own provider account, so the provider bills you directly for the messages and Zanfia adds nothing on top.
📱 Connect and send
- New Your own Twilio or SMSAPI account. Integrations → SMS connects either provider, or both at once. With both connected you pick the default one for automations and can switch the provider per campaign. Twilio connects with an API Key or an Auth Token, and you choose the region your account lives in (US1, IE1 or AU1).
- New SMS campaigns. Marketing → SMS campaigns: write the text with
{{firstName}}chips, pick a segment or create one in place, send now or schedule, then read the report with tiles and a recipients table. The editor works like the e-mail editor, with Content and Sending steps, a phone preview and a checklist before you send. One message can be up to 10 SMS long, and the counter tells you how many SMS each recipient will get. - New Send SMS step in automations. Any automation can text the customer, for example 30 minutes after a purchase or an hour before a webinar. The step has the same editor as campaigns.
- Improved SMSAPI sender names. Integrations → SMS lists every active sender name from your SMSAPI account with a default one. Campaigns and the Send SMS step can use a different one.
✅ Consent and opt-out
- New SMS consent is separate from e-mail consent. Signup forms can ask for a phone number with its own SMS consent checkbox. The customer Profile shows the SMS consent, bulk actions on Customers subscribe or unsubscribe many people at once, and only people with a phone number and SMS consent get a text. Automations and segments have the conditions has phone number and SMS consent.
- New STOP replies opt people out. Integrations → SMS shows a webhook address with setup steps for Twilio and SMSAPI. Once it is set, a STOP reply unsubscribes the sender from SMS. Campaigns and the Send SMS step can add a "Reply STOP to opt out" line, and the e-mail unsubscribe page has a "Do not send me SMS either" checkbox.
🤖 Assistant
- New Draft SMS from chat. Ask the assistant to prepare an SMS campaign and it writes the text, tells you how many SMS it takes and saves a draft you send from Marketing → SMS campaigns. It can also build a draft automation with a Send SMS step ("30 minutes after the purchase, text the link to the course"), check whether your SMS provider is connected and tell you whether a customer agreed to SMS.
